Information for Street group coordinators

Street group coordinators are the life-blood of the Neighbourhood Support organisation. These are the community super-stars who run the Neighbourhood Support group in your street.

What does a street group coordinator do?

There is no strict responsibilities or duties for a street coordinator, but we have compiled a list of things some street coordinators do around Hamilton:

  • Talk to neighbours in their street about joining Neighbourhood Support
  • Be a contact point for NS members in their street if there are any issues NS can help with
  • Keep NS members in their street informed by email, group chat or regular street group meetups about things happening in their community
  • Distribute flyers or information packs with information from NS to neighbours
  • With other neighbours, create a Neighbourhood Plan which outlines what you want to do as a street group, create an emergency plan, and discuss any activities you may wish to do as a group
